I was born and Raised in the Texas Hill Country on our family ranch in Harper, Texas and graduated in 1994.  It was in FFA at Harper that I found my passion for production Agriculture and decided to attend Texas Tech University where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and A Masters Degree in Interdisciplinary Agriculture/Meat Science.  Awhile at Texas Tech I was on the Collegiate  Wool Judging Team, Livestock and Meat Animal Eval Team and the National Champion Meats Judging Team.  I also coached the !999 National Champion Meats Team as a graduate student in 1999.  I have also coached at Clarendon College in 1997 and 1998.  In 2000 I started teaching High School Agriculture in Clear Creek High School, in 2004 I moved to Hondo, Texas where I have spent the majority of Career until 2023.  Awhile at Hondo we built it into one of the most successful ag programs in the Nation and since 2010 have won more than 25 National Championships.  In 2019 and 2020 my great achievements were the birth of my daughters Tatum Brook Tatsch and Grace Madelaine Tatsch which definitely have forever changed my life for the better and filled a huge void after loosing my prize beloved nephew in a tragic accident on the ranch in 2017.  I am excited to be a part of the Wellman-Union family and to raise my daughters Tatum 5 and Grace 6 here in such an awesome ag based community with awesome small town values.  I can’t wait to get started working hard and helping build opportunities in agriculture for our students.
