Hello! My name is Ashley Swain. Teaching is something that I have been passionate about for many years. It started my senior year of high school when I signed up for Exploring Educational Careers. I fell in love with my 2ndgraders that year! I married my husband, Joel in 2011 and graduated from South Plains College with an Associate of Art in Teaching in 2012. In 2013, I took a break from schooling to raise my two sons, Owen and Will. Then, in 2019, I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, specializing in ESL Instruction.
I am very proud to say that this is my 5thyear as a Wellman-Union Wildcat. I love this school, the students, and the community that surrounds it. This year, I will be teaching 3rd grade Mathematics and Science. In my classroom, we build on all successes (no matter their size) so that students build self-esteem and confidence in and out of academics.
