Superintendent - Aaron Waldrip

My name is Aaron Waldrip and I’m proud to be in my third year as Superintendent of Wellman-Union ISD.  I’m originally from Colorado City, TX where I graduated high school in 2001.  From there, I went to Texas Tech and Majored in Exercise and Sport Sciences, with minors in Education and Spanish.  I graduated in 2005 and continued my Master’s in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech.  My first 3 years teaching and coaching were at Lubbock Estacado High School, followed by a year at Lubbock High School.  In 2011, my career transitioned into administration as I served 2 years as the Brownfield Middle School Assistant Principal.  From there I moved into the principal role where I served 3 years.

I’m blessed to have my wife, Ashley Waldrip, and our three kids, Elli Kate (9), Maddox Jack (7),
and Myla Mae (5).

I’m proud that my family and I are a part of Wellman-Union ISD and amazed by the staff I’m blessed to work with on a daily basis.  It is our goal to create an educational environment that’s innovative and fun, all the while challenging students to reach their fullest potential.  Our focus is high academic achievement, creativity, work ethic, and serving others with our words and actions.  Proud to be a Wildcat!

The mission of the Wellman-Union Independent School District is to educate the young people of our community to become productive members of our constantly changing society. All students will be provided opportunities for the development of essential academic skills. Opportunities will be provided for going far beyond these essentials, as well. To the extent of their individual abilities, students will be provided the opportunity to think logically, independently, and creatively, and to communicate effectively. Emphasis will be placed on quality of personnel and instruction in accomplishing this mission.
